How to score it
Assess the patient's ability to roll from side to side in bed. Score the lowest performance level consistently demonstrated. Use the 6-point scale (06=independent to 01=dependent) plus special codes. See Guidance Manual Ch. 4 GG section for full rubric.
The common error
Scoring only one direction (e.g., rolling right) — the item requires ability to roll both left AND right. Score the more difficult direction.
