How to score it
Record the two-letter postal code for the state where the patient currently resides while receiving home health services. For patients with multiple residences (e.g., snowbirds), use the state where care is being delivered during this episode.
The common error
Recording the patient's permanent or mailing-address state when care is being delivered in a different state. M0050 follows the patient to where care is happening, not their permanent residence on paper.
