Getting started and sign-in

Sign in with Face ID or a fingerprint, and why Logicly locks

Sign in with a glance, and open Logicly again after it locks.

Set it up

Logicly uses your phone's own word. An iPhone says Face ID, an Android phone says fingerprint, a Mac says Touch ID and a Windows computer says Windows Hello. You set it up once on each device.

  1. Open Settings. On a phone, tap More, then Settings.
  2. Tap Security.
  3. Under Sign in with Face ID, tap Set up Face ID. On Android it says Sign in with fingerprint and Set up fingerprint.
  4. Sign in again with your email and password. This confirms it is you.
  5. Back on Security, tap Set up Face ID again and look at your phone, or touch the sensor.
  6. Logicly says Face ID is set up on this iPhone. If it asks you to Use Face ID again, do it. That lets Logicly keep your day on the phone for use with no signal.

Next time, Sign in starts Face ID. Sign in with password sits under it if you need it.

Face ID and two-factor

Face ID replaces your authenticator app. Setting it up turns two-factor off, so your password sign-ins will not ask for a code. Turning two-factor back on removes Face ID from every device.

The Logicly is locked screen, with an Unlock with Face ID button.
After 15 minutes without use, Logicly locks. Unlock with Face ID opens it again.

Why Logicly locks

After 15 minutes without use, Logicly locks. It also locks when you close it and open it again. You see Logicly is locked with your name or email. Tap Unlock with Face ID.

Logicly opens where you were. A visit window you had open, or a patient form you were typing, comes back. While Logicly is off the screen, the app switcher shows only the Logicly logo, not your patients.

Without Face ID, Logicly signs you out after 15 minutes instead, and you sign in with your password.

Every 12 hours you start fresh. If you unlock after that, Logicly says You were signed out because your session reached its 12-hour limit. Tap Sign in with Face ID to go on.

If Face ID doesn't work

  • Face ID did not unlock Logicly. Try again, or use your password.Tap Unlock with Face ID again. Or tap Use password instead and type your password. The password needs signal.
  • Unlocking needs signal on this device. This phone does not keep Logicly for use with no signal, so it needs the internet to unlock. Try again when you have Wi-Fi or a cell signal.
  • No Use password instead linkYou have no signal. With no signal, Face ID is the only way in.
  • This iPhone can't use Face ID with Logicly.Logicly lists what to check. On an iPhone: the phone has a passcode, under Settings, Face ID & Passcode, and iCloud Passwords is on, under Settings, your name, iCloud, Passwords. On Android: the phone has a screen lock, and Google Password Manager is on. Then tap Check again. Without these, keep signing in with your password.
  • Face ID was removed for this iPhone. Sign in with your password.Face ID was removed, from this phone or from another device. Sign in with your password, then set it up again in Settings, Security.
  • Sign-in with Face ID did not finish.Try again, or sign in with your password.
  • Face ID was not set up. Nothing changed. The phone did not finish. Try Set up Face ID again.

Turn it off or remove a device

  1. Open Settings, then Security.
  2. Under Devices, find the device. This phone is marked This device.
  3. Tap Remove, then Remove again to confirm.
  4. Sign in again with your password. This confirms it is you.

After you remove Face ID from this phone, you sign in with your password, and Logicly signs you out after 15 minutes instead of locking. It also removes what Logicly keeps on the phone for use with no signal.

Lost a phone? Remove it from the Devices list on another device. That phone then needs your password to sign in.
