How to score it
Starting from standing, assess the patient's ability to walk at least 150 feet. If the home environment doesn't allow a straight 150-foot walk, but the patient can safely walk 150 feet including turns, still code using the 6-point scale rather than treating the item as not attempted. The common error
Defaulting to an activity-not-attempted code just because the home lacks a 150-foot straight corridor — CMS allows the distance to include turns as long as the patient can complete it safely.
