How to score it
Assess the patient's ability to dress and undress below the waist, including fasteners — footwear is excluded (see GG0130H). Items to consider include underwear, incontinence briefs, slacks, shorts, and skirts. A knee brace, elastic bandage, stump sock/shrinker, or above/below-knee lower-limb prosthesis counts as clothing for this item. See Guidance Manual Ch. 3 GG item-by-item tips for full scoring rubric.

Leaving out the effort of putting on/removing a knee brace or lower-limb prosthesis when scoring — CMS counts these devices as clothing for GG0130G, so assistance fastening them factors into the code the same as assistance with pants or briefs.
