Your therapist ticks the steps that apply to you.
- 1Sit in a firm chair, or on the edge of the bed, with your feet flat on the floor.
- 2Lay out your clothes in the order you will put them on.
- 3Dress your weaker or sore arm or leg first.
- 4For a shirt: put the weaker arm in the sleeve, pull the shirt over your head, then put in the stronger arm.
- 5For pants: cross your weaker leg over your other knee, put the pants over that foot, then the other foot. Stand to pull them up, holding something steady.
- 6Use a button hook, zipper pull or elastic laces if your therapist gave you one.
- 7Undress in the opposite order: stronger arm or leg first.
